McShane Metal Expands

McShane Metal Expands

Paula Kezer once said, “Continuity gives us roots; change gives us branches, letting us stretch and grow and reach new heights.” That’s exactly what we are doing here at McShane Welding and Metal Products.

In November of 2021, McShane Welding and Metal Products opened a new office in Erie at 901 West 12th Street, Suite 201. The company has grown leaps and bounds since it first opened its doors in 1974. McShane Welding initially started in the fabrication business. In 1980, the company then decided to get into milk box production when they obtained Kartel Industries. McShane Welding wanted to expand their product lines and then decided to venture into the medical manufacturing business.

McShane Welding began manufacturing laboratory lockers, supplying their products to laboratories and other medical facilities throughout the United States.

With the success of the lab lockers McShane Welding expanded their product line by manufacturing other medical items such as the ESC-10 and medical lock-boxes. The ESC-10 is a container that is used to store and transport frozen specimens. McShane’s medical lock boxes are made for locking and securing prescription medications. Most recently, McShane Welding and Metal Products entered into the B2C market with the innovative Delivery Sentry. This custom built, galvanized steel product offers residents a safe and secure way for their packages or groceries to be delivered until you get home.

During March of 2020, the coronavirus pandemic began here in the United States. At the request of some of the top clinical diagnostic testing companies in the country, McShane Welding was asked to develop and manufacture numerous Covid-19 testing boxes for specimen collections. Some of these Covid-19 testing boxes are actually used during Covid-19 testing that are being administrated in certain drug store pharmacies drive-thrus throughout the USA.

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues along with the high demand for our lab lockers, McShane Welding needed additional space in order to accommodate and provide the service that our customers have always come to expect. With our new office, our Port Access Road location can now completely focus on the fabrication side of the business. The West 12th Street location can then concentrate on our milk boxes, medical lockers, lab lockers, and our packing and shipping.

This is an exciting new chapter that is still currently being written in regards to the growth of McShane Welding and Metal Products. We look forward to being able to tackle new challenges and seeing what the future has in store for us as a company and as a trusted supplier. As we continue to grow, McShane Welding and Metal Products will continue to transform metal into solutions for you.
